Antarctica Bound

Well, I'm all packed, with lots of warm woolies that I have no idea what I'll do with after the trip! :)
I leave tomorrow morning and I'll arrive in Ushuaia, Argentina, on Wednesday afternoon. (I am SO not looking forward to the flights...) Thursday is the official arrival day, but I wanted to leave myself a buffer day in case there are any problems en route. On Friday we'll make a short visit to Tierra del Fuego National Park, then we'll board the ship in late afternoon.
There are so many things I'm looking forward to on this trip—the wildlife viewing, the sea kayaking, the magnificent vistas... But I think what I'm most looking forward to is the almost nonstop daylight! I haven't been able to determine the actual sunrise and sunset times en route, but from what I've found, I think the sun will come up some time between 3 and 4 a.m. and go down between 10 p.m. and midnight. That will be so cool!
We won't have Internet access on the ship, so I won't be able to do any blogging while I'm there, but you can be sure I'll be posting pics as soon as I can after I get back (January 1st).
In the meantime, I'd like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas (and whatever other holidays you may celebrate) and an Adventurous New Year!
